Sylwia + Christian – Fall Engagement Session at Hillstead Museum

Sylwia and Christian reached out to me to shoot their engagement session last year. They had their heart set to do it outside during the lovely, New England fall season. I love working with couples who appreciate the outdoors just as much as me and don’t mind taking a little adventure!

Their session was on October 13th which was EXACTLY one year from their upcoming wedding anniversary, so it truly was the perfect time for their shoot. They are a super dedicated couple and I can attest to that because they ran the Hartford Marathon earlier that day. So we were celebrating all around!

Sylwia made the choice to shoot at Hillstead Museum in Farmington. I had never been before and wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first got there I found a beautiful hiking trail that led out of the forest. I came across a beautifully lit hill that was filled with tall, gorgeous, golden grasses. I knew right away that we had to shoot there!

Throughout the whole session it was so obvious to see the love that Christian and Sylwia share. While directing them into certain poses, they would often stop and kiss each other or simply burst into laughter. When the sun was beginning to set, we headed towards the hill to grab some golden hour shots and finish up their session. After they cuddled in the grass, Christian came out with two champagne bottles to celebrate. He had trouble getting it to pop, so Sylwia stepped in to help! As you can see, we had a ton of fun hanging out in Farmington. Thank you so much Sylwia and Christian for adventuring with me for a few hours. I SO look forward to being a part of their beautiful, fall wedding this year! XO
