Last weekend I hopped on a plane from Connecticut to fly down to South Carolina to shoot Austin and Anna’s engagement session. Fun fact: Anna is my big sister who got engaged recently to her love, Austin!
Anna and Austin met a couple years ago while my oldest sister, Eva, was living in Aynor, South Carolina. Anna was visiting for a weekend and went out for a day of shooting with a group of people, Austin included. He was shy at first and nervously met her out for dinner the following day. While he was quiet at first, Anna cracked him and they fell in love! They did long distance for a bit until Anna followed her heart and moved down to Myrtle Beach.
We all know Austin to be a outrageously funny, and caring gentleman to my sister. I couldn’t be happier that they’ve found each other.
It was only appropriate to travel down South to shoot their engagement session. I was SO excited for that South Carolina sun, since it hasn’t felt much like summer up north yet. Ironically I stepped off the plane into torrential downpours and flooding. It was bike week in Myrtle, so I wasn’t the only one who was disappointed with the weather!
We waited ALL weekend for one good day, did a few rain dances, and we lucked out with a beautiful day at Brookgreen Gardens!
If you follow me on social media, you must know that I’m a huge, huge plant lover. So when I walked into Brookgreen Gardens I was simply amazed with the nature surrounding me. It was a total photographers dream come true! Brookgreen has quite the charm and it was such a lovely venue to shoot at. Anna and Austin are planning their wedding next April at Brookgreen Gardens. I already can’t wait for this 2019 wedding. Scroll down below to see the stunning grounds at this Murrels Inlet venue!
